10L Mechanical Air Fryer: What $6.83 a Unit Buys You

The UAHAF1 mechanical air fryer is a 10L, 1500W basket cooker that sets time and temperature on two dials. Our visible-chamber UAHAF3 shares its element, its 4.7 kg net weight, its 370 × 305 × 350 mm body and its 0.19926 m³ carton — and costs $6.83 a unit more. One has a solid door; the other has a window into the basket. That single difference moves the FOB price by 34%.
// 01 — Key takeaways
Our rated output across 7 assembly lines in a 15,000 m² plant in Guilin, staffed by 205 workers and building appliances since 2005. Every unit carries a 12-month warranty — the figures and certification names are set out in our Trust Center.
What the UAHAF1 mechanical air fryer saves against our visible-chamber 10L, the UAHAF3: $19.89 versus $26.72 FOB, on an identical 10L chamber, 1500W element and carton spec.
1500W spread over 10 litres — the joint-lowest heat density in our range, shared with the 10L UAHAF3, and the reason recovery after a mid-cycle basket pull is slower.
Four units per carton at 0.19926 m³. A 20ft takes 521 and a 40ft takes 1,084 on the same packing spec.
The standard minimum order for the UAHAF1, with 500-unit pilot runs available to test a new market. Lead time runs 15 to 30 days after sample approval and deposit.
// 02 — The gap
Where the $6.83 Gap Between Two 10L Models Sits
The UAHAF1 mechanical air fryer and the UAHAF3 are both 10L, both rated 1500W, both built from ABS, cold-rolled steel and PTFE, and both ship four to a 0.19926 m³ carton. The FOB price differs by $6.83 per unit. Both run on dials — what separates them is that the UAHAF3 lets you see into the chamber.
Same element, same carton, one window
The two datasheets line up cell for cell. Rated power is 1500W on both. Rated voltage is 110-127V~ / 220-240V~ at 50/60Hz on both. Net weight is 4.7 kg and gross weight 5.5 kg on both. Product size is 370 × 305 × 350 mm on both, carton gross is 23 kg, and both load 1,365 units into a 40HQ.
There is no dimensional difference on our packing spec, no difference in rated power or materials, and no difference in the timer. The UAHAF3 is a visible air fryer oven: the chamber carries a window, and the door and bezel tooling that goes with it. That is what the extra $6.83 pays for.
What does the dial actually control?
Two independent mechanical knobs. One sets temperature anywhere in the 80–200 °C band by moving a bimetallic thermostat setpoint. The other is a spring-wound timer with a 30-minute ceiling that cuts power at zero. Neither knob talks to a processor, so there are no presets and no memory.
That is the whole control system. It means the end user cannot save a programme, and cannot read a numeric setpoint off a display — the setting is wherever the pointer sits. For a large part of the world’s retail market, that trade is worth making.
What you trade away
Against the UAHAF3 you give up the window. On a solid-door unit the operator opens the drawer to check colour, and every pull vents the chamber and adds to a recovery time that a 10-litre basket already has. You also give up the shelf appeal of a visible chamber, which in some channels is the whole reason a unit sells.
What you do not give up is capability. Both models carry the same 30-minute mechanical timer, the same 80–200 °C band, the same 1500W element and the same removable PTFE pot. Neither runs longer than 30 minutes without re-winding the dial, so a full load of bone-in chicken can want a second cycle on either one.
Both 10L units carry the same 1500W element, the same two dials and the same carton. What the extra $6.83 buys is a window into the basket — and whether that window sells is a question about your shelf, not about the cooking.

// 03 — Definition
What Is a 10L Mechanical Air Fryer?
A 10L mechanical air fryer is a large-basket convection cooker in which a fan drives heated air around the food, and in which cooking time and temperature are set by physical dials rather than an electronic panel. The UAHAF1 is that machine at 1500W with a 30-minute timer.
The two-dial interface
The upper knob is temperature, marked across 80–200 °C, or 175–395 °F on the dual-scale version. The lower knob is time. Turning the timer past zero closes the circuit, which is why a mechanical air fryer has no standby draw: at rest, the unit is electrically open.
Why does the 30-minute timer matter?
Because it is the ceiling on one unattended cycle. Thirty minutes covers chips, wings, vegetables and reheating. It does not cover a slow roast or a dehydration run, both of which need the user to re-wind the dial. Buyers selling into roast-heavy cuisines should know this before they commit.
Our 4L touch model, the UAHAF38, runs a 60-minute timer instead. If your range needs a long-cycle SKU, that is where it currently sits in the catalogue.
Where a solid door costs you
A closed chamber makes checking a physical action: pull the drawer, look, push it back. Each pull vents hot air, and at 150 W per litre the UAHAF1 is the slowest unit in our range to climb back to setpoint. The practical answer is to train the operator to trust the timer rather than the eye, which is easier on a 30-minute dial than on a menu tree — but it is a real difference in how the two units are used.

Rated power and the 150 W per litre figure
Divide 1500W by 10 litres and you get 150 W per litre. Our 6L mechanical unit sits at roughly 217 and the 5.5L at 236. Heat density falls as the chamber grows, so a 10L basket takes longer to come back to setpoint after the drawer is pulled. The capacity is real; the recovery time is the cost of it.
ABS, cold-rolled steel and PTFE
The outer shell is moulded ABS, the chassis and chamber are cold-rolled sheet, and the removable pot carries a PTFE non-stick coating. PTFE is the food-contact surface, so it is the part your compliance file has to cover for the destination market — FDA and LFGB are the two food-contact regimes buyers ask for most often.
The 80–200 °C band and cooking temperature
The dial sets the air temperature, not the food temperature. Doneness is measured in the product. The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service puts the safe minimum internal temperature for all poultry at 165 °F (74 °C), measured with a food thermometer. If you are writing manuals for the US market, that number belongs in them.
// 05 — Comparison
How the 10L Mechanical Air Fryer Compares With Three Catalogue Siblings
Four models, one table. Every price below is the catalogue FOB price and every container figure comes from the same packing spec, so the rows are directly comparable. The UAHAF1 is the lowest-priced 10-litre basket in this set.
| Model | Capacity | Rated power | W per litre | FOB $/unit | Units / 40HQ |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| UAHAF1 Dials, solid door | 10L | 1500W | 150 | $19.89 | 1,365 |
| UAHAF3 (dials + window) | 10L | 1500W | 150 | $26.72 | 1,365 |
| UAHAF31 (dials + window) | 6L | 1300W | 217 | $16.71 | 1,492 |
| UAHAF17 (dials, solid door) | 5.5L | 1300W | 236 | $17.36 | 1,618 |

10L vs 10L: what the window costs
Both the mechanical air fryer and the visible-chamber model put 1,365 units in a 40HQ, so the $6.83 is pure goods value on identical cube: $9,322.95 across a full container. If your channel does not sell on the window — if the box and the capacity figure do the selling — that money is better spent on packaging or on a second colourway.
6L and 5.5L: heat density climbs as capacity falls
The UAHAF31 is the other mechanical air fryer in this set: 6L at 1300W with a viewing window, $16.71 catalogue FOB, and 1,492 units to a 40HQ. It is the model to quote when the shopper wants dials but not a 10-litre footprint on the counter.
Why model choice moves cost more than volume does
Across these four models the spread runs $16.71 to $26.72 — just over $10 a unit, or about 60% of the cheapest one. Volume discounts on any single model move a fraction of that. Choosing between a window and a solid door, or between 10 litres and 5.5, is the decision that actually sets your landed cost.
// 06 — Freight
Cube, Cartons and the 40HQ Number
Large-basket air fryers are a cube-limited freight problem, not a weight-limited one. A 10-litre chamber ships mostly air, so the carton spec decides your landed cost per unit long before the FOB price does.
0.19926 m³ per carton of four
The master carton measures 675 × 360 × 820 mm and holds four units. Divide the cube by four and each unit occupies roughly 0.0498 m³. That is the number to put into a landed-cost model, because it is what your freight forwarder charges against.
How many units fit a 40HQ?
1,365 units on this packing spec. A 40ft standard takes 1,084 and a 20ft takes 521. The 5.5L UAHAF17 fits 1,618 — roughly 250 more sellable units per box than the 10L, while the 6L UAHAF31 adds about 127.
Net 4.7 kg, gross 5.5 kg
Net weight is 4.7 kg and gross is 5.5 kg per unit, giving 22 kg of product in a carton that grosses 23 kg. Roughly one kilogram of that carton is packaging. If you are redesigning the gift box for retail, that is the budget you are working inside.
// 07 — Fit
Which Buyers Should Stock a Mechanical Air Fryer?
Three profiles buy this unit repeatedly: value retail chasing a large-capacity price point, distributors in markets where after-sales labour is expensive, and small food-service operators who want a second cooking station without a new circuit.
Value retail and hard-discount
A 10-litre basket at a sub-$20 factory cost is a strong shelf proposition, because capacity is the specification shoppers compare first. A mechanical air fryer keeps the bill of materials down without cutting the number on the box.
Markets where service costs money
Where a warranty visit costs more than the appliance margin, a dial-and-switch unit is the simpler thing to service. The UAHAF1 carries knobs, switches and a mechanical timer — spares that are cheap to hold and simple to fit, which shortens the claim and keeps the unit out of the return stream. That is a real advantage against a touch-control model such as our 4L UAHAF38, and it is not an advantage against the UAHAF3, which runs the same two dials.
Staff canteens and small food service
The 10L chamber handles batch reheating for a small canteen or a staff kitchen. At 1500W on a standard socket it needs no dedicated circuit, and the 30-minute mechanical timer is genuinely easier to train a rotating shift on than a menu tree.
// 08 — Manufacturing
How We Manufacture This 10L Mechanical Air Fryer
The UAHAF1 mechanical air fryer is built in our own Guilin facility — 15,000 m², seven assembly lines, 205 workers, and a rated output of 100,000 units a month. Tooling, assembly, testing and packing all happen under one roof.
In-house tooling and moulding
The ABS shell and the dial bezels come off our own moulds, so a private-label programme can change the panel finish and colour without new tooling from a third party. Cold-rolled steel chassis parts are pressed and formed on the same site.
Element, fan and thermostat burn-in
Heating elements, the circulation fan and the bimetallic thermostat are assembled and run under power before the unit is closed. Burn-in is where an out-of-tolerance thermostat or an unbalanced fan shows itself, while the assembly is still open.
Quality control and safety testing
Finished units go through electrical safety testing and a functional run across the 80–200 °C band, including the overheat cut-out. The 30-minute timer is exercised to zero. Non-stick pots are inspected for coating defects before packing.
Certification and warranty
We build to CE, GS, CB, UL, ETL, FCC, RoHS, REACH, FDA and LFGB, with UKCA, PSE and SAA available by market, under ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 systems. Certification names only — the marks and reports issued depend on your product line and destination. Every unit carries a 12-month warranty.
// 09 — Commercial terms
Wholesale Terms: MOQ, Tiers, Lead Time and Incoterms
The UAHAF1 mechanical air fryer is $19.89 per piece FOB China at a standard MOQ of 1,000 units, with 500-unit pilot runs available for a buyer testing a new market. Production runs 15 to 30 days after sample approval and deposit. Payment is 30/70 T/T, and EXW or CIF pricing is available on request for buyers who arrange their own freight.
How does pricing scale with volume?
The published figure is $19.89 per unit FOB China at the standard 1,000-unit MOQ. Factory-direct pricing scales with volume above that, and the exact tier is confirmed on the quotation against your specification, packaging and destination — customisation and voltage configuration both move the number, so we do not publish a fixed ladder that would be wrong for a large share of the orders quoting it.
What is worth planning around is the container rather than the tier. At 1,365 units to a 40HQ, a full box of UAHAF1 is $27,149.85 of goods at the published price. The same box of the visible-chamber UAHAF3 is $36,472.80. That $9,322.95 is the number to argue about internally, not the cents between one tier and the next.
MOQ and sampling
Standard MOQ is 1,000 units per model, with 500-unit pilot runs available case by case, usually where a buyer is testing a new market. Samples ship ahead of the production run, and the approved sample is the reference the line builds against.
Incoterms and payment
We quote FOB China by default. EXW and CIF are available, and Alibaba Trade Assurance is supported. Terms are 30% deposit with the 70% balance before shipment, so a first-time buyer is protected on quality and delivery.
// 10 — Compliance
Safety Standards and the Compliance File
Air fryers are electrically simple and thermally demanding, so the compliance file is dominated by heat: element protection, surface temperature and the behaviour of the unit under abnormal conditions. Your destination market decides which marks the file has to carry.
Which standard family applies
Portable cooking appliances sit under the IEC 60335 household-appliance safety framework. IEC 60335-2-9 sets the particular requirements for grills, toasters and similar portable cooking appliances with a baking, roasting or grilling function, rated at not more than 250 V — which is the family a CB report for this class of product is normally drawn from.
Overheat protection and the thermal cut-out
The UAHAF1 mechanical air fryer carries an overheat protection circuit that interrupts the element if chamber temperature runs past its limit. It is the single most important safety feature on a 1500W unit with a plastic outer shell, and it is exercised as part of the functional test before packing.
Dual-voltage and plug configuration
The platform is rated 110-127V~ and 220-240V~ at 50/60Hz, so one product covers North American and European or Australasian grids. Plug type, cord length and the label set are configured per order. Tell us the destination at quotation and the correct configuration is built into the sample.

// 12 — Conclusion
When the Dial Version Is the Right Line Item
Quote the UAHAF1 mechanical air fryer when your channel sells on capacity and price, and when the carton and the specification are doing the selling. Quote the visible-chamber UAHAF3 when the shopper is standing in front of both units and the window is what closes it.
The specification either way is a 10-litre chamber, 1500W, an 80–200 °C band, a 30-minute dial timer and a removable PTFE pot in a dual-voltage body that ships 1,365 to a 40HQ. What changes is $6.83 a unit and whether the buyer can see inside. On a full container that is $9,322.95 — enough to fund the packaging redesign that usually matters more to sell-through than the window does.
